krokgard Not just for the hardcore Lovecraftians, The Dukes of Alhazred is the band's most accomplished record, and their most accessible. From the rock and roll thrills of "Warren Is Dead!" to the theatrical emo chills of "Shhh..." and "A Little Late," there's something here for all punk rockers with a taste for monsters and horror, including laughs aplenty, and some deeply atmospheric moments. Favorite track: Shhh.....

Soveriegn of the void I only just discovered this band. How did I miss this genius. Love it. Favorite track: Shhh.....

humbledumpling Old school punk flavour with new school production and vague echoes of Dead Kennedy's mixed with their own unique flavour. Unspeakable monstrosities cavorting beneath the jaundiced light of a gibbonous moon. What's not to love? I used to listen to these guys back in 99 so to find them still doing their thing and growing musically is a genuine delight. Favorite track: Erich Zann.

about

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets Vancouver, British Columbia

In 1992 some nerds living in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia Canada, who were into H.P. Lovecraft's weird horror fiction and roleplaying games, decided to start a band. With no musical training but with a penchant for spine-tingling monster costumes, they began "writing" "music" and showcasing their unique brand of humor and horror at local venues.

Human earthlings seemed to enjoy it.
